about my approach

First time in therapy? Tried it before? Let’s meet exactly where you’re at.

I use an integrative approach rooted in a psychodynamic framework that's tailored to the unique goals and needs of each individual. I view the therapeutic relationship as paramount and I strive to co-create a trusting space to explore. This foundational relationship and your courage and willingness allow for deep exploration into your inner world.

I incorporate elements from emotion-focused therapies, mindfulness-based cognitive therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotional processing theory with a special focus on attachment, neuropsychology, and the mind/body connection.

what to expect in traditional psychotherapy

As a patient, you can expect to take an active role in the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll work towards awakening the autopilot that many of us default to. Through compassionate and curious exploration, we will bring awareness to patterns that may be interfering with your life. Typically a longer term treatment that meets weekly.

what to expect in Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy

ERP is viewed as a first line approach for the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder. If it’s determined it’s clinically appropriate, ERP could be a recommended starting point or a supplement to traditional psychotherapy. We’d work together to construct a hierarchy of feared internal and external fear cues and design exposures with ritual prevention to target the OCD. ERP is considered shorter term treatment and typically lasts 17-25 sessions.

who I work with

I am particularly passionate about working with musical artists, touring professionals, performers, athletes, and their family members and helping navigate unique challenges of the industry and life on the road. If you are motivated to engage in deep inner exploration, I think we’d be a great fit.

I have expertise and training working with this population and am happy to be a therapist in the Backline network.

professional history

I have been in private practice since 2020. Prior to counseling individuals in a private practice setting, I worked in an inpatient psychiatric crisis stabilization facility and provided care for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. Prior to that, I volunteered in a mentor and manager role with a non-profit organization that provided supportive, sober housing for individuals with substance and alcohol use challenges.

logistics

I practice virtually via video platform M/W/Th and offer in person sessions in the Financial District, NYC on Tuesdays. For those in Pennsylvania, I am only practicing virtually at this time.

I am accepting new patients and would love to hear from you.

“We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship.”
